[ X ] JORTS
[ X ] JORTS IS A STUDY FOCUSED ON THE INTERSECTION OF MATERIAL ENGINEERING AND HUMAN APPAREL DESIGN. THE PROJECT UTILIZES THE "[ X ]" LOGO AS A CENTRAL MOTIF TO EXPLORE THE APPLICATION OF SYMBOLIC GRAPHICS ON LOWER-BODY GARMENTS, SPECIFICALLY DENIM SHORTS ("JORTS").
THE INITIAL PROTOTYPE EMPLOYED METAL SHEETS AND LEATHER TO FORM THE "X," RESULTING IN EXCESSIVE RIGIDITY AND LIMITED FUNCTIONALITY. SUBSEQUENT ITERATIONS INTRODUCED PEARL EMBELLISHMENTS, PROVIDING A FLEXIBLE MATERIAL SOLUTION AND EXPANDING THE SCOPE OF DECORATIVE TECHNIQUES. THIS REFINEMENT ENABLED THE STUDY OF PEARLS AS A MULTIDIMENSIONAL MEDIUM, EVALUATING THEIR TEXTURAL CONTRAST, DURABILITY, AND CULTURAL IMPLICATIONS WHEN INTEGRATED INTO GARMENTS.
DATA COLLECTED FROM THESE TRIALS CONTRIBUTES TO THE BROADER INVESTIGATION OF SYMBOL INTEGRATION AND THE TECHNICAL LIMITATIONS OF EMBELLISHMENTS IN HUMAN CLOTHING SYSTEMS.
